Shift Happens
I've spoken briefly on IG stories and in passing through posts about how difficult it can be when you feel like you're being boxed in. If there's one thing I've come to know about myself is that I'm a multi-faceted creative.
'Shift Happens' was a podcast born out of this desire to share more on my mental health journey, life's struggles and generally a safe space for me to talk about whatever to whoever. As much as being a content creator is about providing for an audience, a lot of what I do fulfils a need on a much deeper personal level.
I find the process of talking and sharing my thoughts out loud so cathartic especially coming from situations and past traumas where at times I felt silenced and shamed.
As with most of my current hyper fixations, I often go all in and set myself up to fail. Sort of what I do here - When I make bold statements about returning to the blog and then losing the motivation to keep it going. Initially I wanted to record an episode once a week, who was I kidding? Do you know how much work goes into recording and editing a podcast? Gashhh - Add in the last minute idea of filming it and boy what delusional la la land was I living in?
So what I will say is that I am now working with my new agent (Yay, more on that soon) to find achievable and manageable ways to wear all my creative hats. For now it may look like a blog post a couple of times a month and a podcast once a month.
What I will say is that I appreciate anyone who is reading this right now, I appreciate the love and support that I have received from strangers on the internet over the last 15 years of sharing my life online.
If you haven't already checked out 'Shift Happens' you can watch all episodes over on YouTube or listen HERE on Spotify and HERE on Apple.
The last episode I released on the 1st October was a heavy one but an episode I felt so compelled to record it as it's a lot to do with Domestic Violence. I can't actually upload that video here but you can check the links above to listen in full.
Sending you love and light
Your internet bestie, always.
